Undoubtedly, technology has a very great contribution to human life. Today, if we can follow the world, experience comfort and quality in transportation, health, communication, food, and many other sectors, the effect of technology is an indisputable fact. However, as much as it is positive, technology also has negative aspects.

Although technology has greatly facilitated our lives, technology is also quite effective in weakening human relationships. So, what are the negative effects of technology on human relationships? How has technology affected human relationships negatively?


The Share of Technology in Human Relationships

Today, technology use is quite high in many sectors in the world and in our country. Especially computers, mobile phones or mobile devices are found in almost every human being in the world. Technological devices such as mobile phones and computers affect our human relationships while making our lives easier on the one hand. Although we may not realize that technology has negative effects on relationships, technology is also among the leading causes of relationship problems today.


Negative Aspects of Technology and Human Relationships

Of course, like every product or service, technology has negative aspects as well as positive ones. It is even more possible to see these negativities especially among young people called generation z. We can list the negative effects of technology on human relationships as follows;


Raising an Asocial Youth

Especially young people born in 2000 and later are completely integrated with technology when they come to the world. Today, every young person has a smartphone in their hand. Young people spend more time in virtual environments and social media platforms instead of cafes, tea gardens, libraries, or environments where they can socialize. This causes young people to become asocial personalities without socializing.


Impatience

One of the important factors among the effects of technology on human relationships is shown as people being more impatient. People, especially younger individuals, want their jobs and lives to flow faster with the speed that the internet and technology give. This brings the feeling of impatience to the fore in people.


Obesity Problems

Young people and middle-aged people who constantly play games, or people who remain inactive from spending time on social media, are found. Due to their inactivity, people gain weight and become obese. People who gain weight spend more time on the internet instead of socializing outside. Both this inactivity that poses a risk to their health and disrupts human relationships.
